Job summary

The Virginia Department of Social Services seeks a Self-Sufficiency Supervisor to oversee Self-Sufficiency Specialists who determine eligibility for government assistance programs and provide employment services. You will train, lead, and develop staff while monitoring case management services and collaborating with management to ensure optimal program performance.

Ideal candidates bring considerable supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to manage caseloads

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field and lead/supervisory experience
• Experience supervising and training staff in public service
• Knowledge of eligibility determination policies and regulations
• Strong communication and reporting skills

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative and programmatic supervision to staff.
• Reviews case management plans to ensure quality and compliance.
• Develops guidelines for delivery of case management services and assigns caseloads.
• Coordinates and monitors staff activities and performance.
• Trains new employees on agency policies and procedures.
• Interprets regulations and changes to staff; supports program operations.
• Maintains records and prepares reports; participates in policy development.
• Represents staff needs to senior management and liaises with external partners.
