Job summary

The Virginia Department of Social Services seeks an entry-level Self-Sufficiency Specialist I to train under supervision while learning to determine eligibility for a range of social services and assess employability of clients to help them achieve self-sufficiency.

Upon successful completion of the training program, the employee may be redefined to Self-Sufficiency Specialist II and become eligible for a salary increase.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with additional training and related work experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/experience preferred.
• Ability to learn policies, maintain confidentiality, and work with diverse clients.
