Job summary

Ares is seeking an Acquisitions Analyst with a strong interest in real estate investing to support the Self Storage Real Estate Group. This role will collaborate with the acquisitions team and senior leadership to identify, evaluate, and execute potential self storage acquisitions and developments.

You will assist with underwriting, due diligence and transaction execution, traveling as needed, and working extended hours as required to support an active deal pipeline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or other related Business majors.
• 0-2 years relevant experience in real estate acquisitions, CRE brokerage, or asset management.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Basic understanding of financial reports and accounting.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for the acquisitions team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial underwriting models for self storage acquisitions and development deals.
• Manage pipeline and review property-level diligence materials, including financial and operating reports, unit mix, rent rolls, and leases.
• Conduct market research on self storage fundamentals, comps, supply analysis and market share.
• Prepare investment summaries and materials for Senior Management and Investment Committee.
• Provide general transaction support, coordinate third-party reports, and assist deal team.
• Travel as needed and be prepared for extended hours and weekends.
