Job summary

Nuveen seeks an Associate for Self-Storage Asset Management to maximize the value of its U.S. self-storage portfolio. You will support managing, leasing, renovations and expansions, and recapitalization/dispositions across markets.

You will collaborate with operating partners, prepare budgets and business plans, perform financial analyses, and help develop long-term capital plans while advancing ESG and technology initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business/finance/real estate.
• 2+ years in commercial real estate; 3+ years preferred.
• Experience in self-storage asset management or acquisitions is preferred.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial reporting skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Yardi software.

Responsibilities

• Support management of a growing self-storage portfolio across risk profiles.
• Engage with operating partners to maximize investment performance.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets, operating budgets, and capital budgets.
• Perform financial analyses to assess current and projected performance.
• Support capital planning, including capex and dispositions/recapitalizations.
• Assist in due diligence, underwriting, and onboarding for new assets.
• Support ESG, technology, and broader Nuveen initiatives.
