Job summary

Food Lion in Roanoke Rapids, NC is seeking a Part-time Self Checkout Ambassador to provide fast, friendly service at the SCO stations and assist customers with self-checkouts.

You will wear the Food Lion uniform and work under Front End standards, helping customers, scanning when needed, and maintaining a clean SCO area. Prioritize safety and accuracy, with a focus on courteous, efficient service.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple task and technical requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service.
• Great each customer and assist customers on how to use self-checkouts properly.
• Respond timely to notifications and monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper usage and accurate scanning.
• Remind customers of items located at the bottom of the cart.
• When needed, assist with scanning, complete voids, age restricted item verification and any other SCO assist functions in accordance to Front End Standard Practice.
• Avoid personal conversation with other associates when customers are present.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed, engage and identify self-checkout customers needing assistance.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform, complete with name badge, when on duty, have a clean and nice appearance while adhering to Food Lion dresscode.
• Collect and return shopping carts from the SCO area, ensure the SCO area has a neat and clean presentation.
• Report any self-checkout issues to Customer Service Manager or MOD
