Job summary

Food Lion in Wilmington, NC is hiring a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service at the self-checkout area and help customers use the hand scanner for a smooth checkout. You will greet customers, answer questions, and maintain a clean, organized self-checkout zone.

You will support the Customer Service Manager in upholding Front End standards, contribute to store sales, and ensure safety and order in all front-end activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including hand scanner usage.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage and scanning accuracy.
