Confidential Custom Home Builder in Greater Richmond, VA is seeking a motivated Selections Coordinator to guide homeowners through finishes, colors, materials, and custom options. You will coordinate with sales, estimating, production, suppliers, and trade partners to ensure accurate, on-schedule selections and a polished design experience.

As a full-time on-site role, you will maintain organized design-center operations, manage change orders, and help create engaging project content.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential design, interior selections, or related client-facing role.
• Understanding of residential construction processes, materials, finishes, and design coordination.

As the Design Consultant, you will guide homeowners through finish, color, material, and option selections while ensuring every decision is completed accurately and on schedule. You will collaborate with clients, sales, estimating, production, suppliers, and trade partners to prevent delays and create a polished, well-organized design experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide clients through meetings to select finishes, fixtures, colors, materials, and custom options.
• Maintain weekly communication with clients throughout the selection process.
• Manage selection deadlines and explain the scheduling and cost implications of delayed decisions.
• Keep selection sheets, specifications, pricing, and option documents accurate and current.
• Prepare change orders, obtain required signatures, and collect applicable client payments.
• Coordinate with estimating to obtain pricing for custom selections and items outside the standard options catalog.
• Ensure sales, estimating, production, and field teams receive complete and finalized selection information.
• Coordinate client meetings with suppliers, subcontractors, and trade partners when appropriate.
• Complete selections for speculative homes and assist with model-home design decisions.
• Maintain an organized Design Center with current samples, displays, literature, and product information.
• Review relevant homeowner documents and design-related responsibilities with clients.
• Identify and resolve selection issues before they cause delays, errors, or rework.
• Create engaging social media content featuring design trends, project inspiration, and the custom-home design process.

Qualifications:

• A positive, solutions-focused, "can-do" attitude.
• Experience in residential design, interior selections, custom homebuilding, construction, or a related client-facing role.
• Understanding of residential construction processes, materials, finishes, and design coordination.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and detailed documents.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to discuss upgrades, pricing, schedules, and design decisions confidently with homeowners.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through unexpected challenges.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, estimating, production, suppliers, and trade partners.
• Strong computer skills and willingness to learn project and selection-management systems.
• Social media or content-creation experience is an asset.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends based on client and project needs.

Compensation:

• Full-time, exempt position.
• Pay: $75.000 - $95.000 depending on experience
