Job summary

Plainville Community Schools seeks a SEL Support Tutor at Plainville High School to provide targeted social-emotional learning support and instruction to students at risk of not meeting academic and social-emotional goals under certified supervision.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field and registration as a Behavior Technician with BACB, with ongoing guidance from a Behavior Analyst to implement evidence-based strategies and monitor progress.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate flexibility, problem-solving, self-motivation and effective communication.
• Interact constructively with school personnel and learners with respect.
• Prepare instructional materials with guidance of certified staff.
• Support students' progress by communicating SEL performance data to school personnel.
• Implement learning strategies to maintain supportive learning environments.
• Monitor and adjust instruction based on students' performance and engagement.
• Provide meaningful feedback to students during instruction to improve performance.
• Use computers and basic educational equipment to prepare learning materials with guidance.
• Develop and maintain effective interactions with all learners.
• Use reinforcement and behavioral strategies to increase learner motivation.
• Administer assessments to document instructional level and progress.
• Record data to document progress toward learning goals.
• Arrive promptly and adhere to the District attendance policy.
• Complete assigned duties consistent with guidelines and confidentiality.
• Perform other SEL and student support duties as deemed necessary.
