Fremont County School District 14 seeks a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Paraprofessional at Wyoming Indian High School to support students’ social-emotional development and assist with school operations.

The role involves direct SEL support, collaboration with counselors and teachers, and ensuring confidentiality in handling student information. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for creating a positive school climate and effective student services.

Qualifications

• Requires 48 hours of college credit or an AA degree.
• Eligible to obtain Substitute Teacher Certification per WY Professional Teaching Standards Board.
• Experience with students in educational or counseling settings preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in office software and general clerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct SEL support to students, including coping strategies and self-regulation.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to develop SEL skills.
• Assist in MTSS interventions related to student well-being.
• Support teachers and staff by reinforcing positive behavior and a safe environment.
• Act as first responder in crises, with immediate intervention and notification.
• Collaborate with counselors, social workers, and teachers to create student support plans.
• Assist in SEL initiatives, activities, and programs within the school.
• Facilitate communication between students, families and staff regarding SEL concerns.
• Assist with data entry, report prep, and document management.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with school policies.
• Provide assistance during school events, meetings, and special projects.
• Other duties as assigned to support school operations and student well-being.
