We are seeking an experienced Seibi Technician Trainer to support technical training and equipment activities within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
This is a unique 50/50 training and hands-on technical role. The successful candidate will lead classroom and hands-on training for new and experienced technicians while also supporting equipment troubleshooting, installation, trials, startup, and Seibi activities on the manufacturing floor.
The ideal candidate will have extensive Toyota or Toyota supplier/vendor experience, strong Toyopuc PLC and automation knowledge, and a proven ability to train and mentor maintenance and technical personnel.
Lead classroom and hands-on technical training for new and experienced Seibi and maintenance technicians
Conduct technical bootcamp training for new hires and periodic training for existing team members
Develop, write, and update technical training curriculum and training plans
Provide training supporting Body Weld, Paint, and Assembly operations
Train technicians on equipment troubleshooting, PLCs, robotics, automation, and maintenance practices
Perform offline and/or online robot programming
Troubleshoot and modify Toyopuc and Omron PLC logic
Support technicians directly on the manufacturing floor
Verify new model equipment meets required standards and performs as intended
Support equipment preparation and confirmation at machine builders and equipment vendors
Assist with equipment installation, trials, commissioning, and production startup
Develop equipment countermeasures and resolve technical issues during setup and trials
Support Machine Seibi activities at manufacturing facilities throughout North America
Travel to manufacturing plants and suppliers as required
10+ years of current or recent Seibi, automotive maintenance, controls, or related manufacturing experience
Strong Toyota manufacturing or Toyota equipment-vendor experience highly preferred
Extensive Toyopuc PLC troubleshooting and logic modification experience
Experience with Omron PLCs preferred
Strong industrial automation, controls, and robotics knowledge
Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment
Previous technical training, mentoring, or OJT experience
Ability to effectively train technicians in both classroom and hands-on environments
Experience developing or writing technical training materials and curriculum
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor
Willing and able to work significant overtime, including weekends and holidays when required
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally
Candidates with experience as a Seibi Technician, Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Team Leader, Controls Technician, Automation Technician, Robotics Technician, Technical Trainer, or Equipment Commissioning Technician within Toyota or a Toyota equipment supplier environment are strongly encouraged to apply.
