We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Technician – Seibi to support automated manufacturing equipment in a high-volume production environment.
This is a hands-on, shop-floor position focused on the installation, programming, debugging, troubleshooting, and improvement of automated manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PLCs, robotics, servo systems, electrical controls, and industrial equipment troubleshooting.
The position may require extended hours during equipment installations, production launches, shutdowns, and other critical project periods.
Install, debug, troubleshoot, and support automated manufacturing equipment.
Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Program and troubleshoot industrial robotic systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot servo and motion-control systems.
Troubleshoot relay logic, electrical wiring, sensors, and associated controls.
Diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic equipment issues.
Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
Support equipment installations, commissioning, startup, and production readiness activities.
Work directly on the manufacturing floor to identify and resolve equipment problems.
Support production during equipment issues, shutdowns, and launch activities.
Travel to manufacturing facilities and suppliers as required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
3–5+ years of industrial maintenance, automation, equipment installation, or equipment-debugging experience.
Hands-on experience with PLC programming, including the ability to read, write, troubleshoot, and modify PLC logic.
Experience with Mitsubishi PLCs preferred.
Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting industrial robots.
Experience with servo/motion-control systems.
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including relay logic and wiring.
Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
Experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and manufacturing shutdown periods as required.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
Associate degree or higher in a technical field.
Automotive manufacturing experience.
Equipment installation, commissioning, or new-model launch experience.
Pre-production equipment setup experience.
New plant or manufacturing facility startup experience.
Experience in high-volume automated manufacturing.
Experience with Standardized Work (STW) and Job Instruction Sheets (JIS).
Experience gathering and analyzing manufacturing or quality data.
Experience working in clean-room manufacturing environments.
Travel may include manufacturing plants and suppliers throughout the United States, as well as international travel to Japan, Canada, and Mexico. Travel activities may include hands-on equipment support, installation, troubleshooting, meetings, and observation.
This position is primarily performed on the manufacturing shop floor and requires appropriate personal protective equipment. Candidates must be comfortable working around industrial machinery and automated production equipment.
Steel-toed safety shoes above the ankle are required.
