Job summary

Mesa Public Schools seeks a SEI Technician II - English Language Acquisition to assist in identifying, screening, testing, placement, and instruction of ELL students at Kino Junior High. The role supports documentation and language services within the ELAD department.

Position includes full-time 35 hours/week, base hourly wage of $17.12, and benefits such as sick leave, holidays, retirement matching, health and life insurance.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire or pass ParaPro Test.
• Pass ELAD language proficiency test.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identification, screening, testing and placement of ELL students.
• Assist in delivering individual or group instruction with teacher supervision.
• Serve as a liaison between ELAD and school site.
• Interpret at parent-teacher conferences under SEI teacher direction.
• Maintain documentation and materials for reporting and compliance.
• Communicate with site and district personnel.
• Assist in training new SEI technicians at school site.
• Attend staff development in-services and meetings.
