Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Special Education/Resource Room teacher with SEI Endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This role focuses on high expectations, equal access to instruction, and closing achievement gaps in urban settings.

Responsibilities include implementing state-aligned goals, providing targeted small-group instruction, and maintaining IEP-based progress reporting, while collaborating with staff and supporting transitions to adult

Qualifications

• Education: Hold a bachelor's degree.
• Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities for the appropriate grade level.
• Hold ESL License at the appropriate level or SEI Endorsement.
• Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Implement district learning goals and objectives, aligned with state frameworks; identify access points for student portfolio development.
• Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays to support understanding and progress in the general curriculum.
• Write and implement goals and objectives aligned with IEPs and provide timely progress reports on student development.
• Provide needed accommodations for student learning and testing; develop curricula and analyze student work for MCAS Alternative Assessment progress.
• Collaborate as a team member within the school to support other staff in meeting student needs for modification.
• Assist students in transitions to adult living services where appropriate.
