Job summary

Boston Public Schools (BPS) seeks an exceptional Special Education/Resource Room teacher with an SEI Endorsement who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. Reports to: Principal/Head of School.

Responsibilities include implementing district goals, providing small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays, developing and monitoring IEP goals, and collaborating with staff to support modifications and transitions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required and Massachusetts teaching license in Moderate Disabilities.
  • SEI Endorsement or ESL license at appropriate level.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays.
  • Write and implement IEP goals and provide progress reports.
  • Provide accommodations for learning and testing; prepare MCAS Alternative assessments as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff to support modification and response to student needs.
  • Assist students transitioning to adult living services when appropriate.
