Job summary

The Aebi Schmidt Group is seeking a Segment Sales Engineer to oversee design, development, and customization of walk‑in vans, truck bodies, and specialty vehicles for defined industries. The role focuses on meeting client needs, regulatory standards, and manufacturing feasibility while driving quality and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an engineering or technical field.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable with both analytical and hands-on application of technical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3-D CAD for reviewing and modifying assemblies, models, and drawings.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and data extraction for analysis.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Oversee product design, prototyping, testing, and production launch.
• Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and supply chain to deliver customized solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes, cost control, and product performance.
• Maintain strong relationships with external customers and provide technical and business solutions.
• Serve as a technical advisor and product advocate for the regional sales team.
• Resolve issues promptly and escalate complex matters to management.
• Perform competitive benchmarking to inform strategy and planning.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to sales and customers.
• Support sales and marketing by attending trade shows and training events, traveling as needed.
• Maintain records including quotes, project requests, contacts, and correspondence.
• Support Systems Engineering with tools and process improvements.
