Segment Sales Manager - Large Motors & Generators

Reporting to: Regional President of Large Motors and Generators

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for selling products, systems, and services within a designated segment, aligned with the industry segment strategy. You will achieve qualitative and quantitative sales targets to ensure sustainable growth in orders, revenue, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will identify and develop new sales opportunities within the segment.

Work model: #LI - Remote

This role contributes to the Motion Large Motors & Generators Division in the US.

You will mainly be accountable for:

  1. Selling products, systems, and services to customers, focusing on volume, mix, and profitability targets, while ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
  2. Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand their needs, promote understanding of ABB's offerings, and align solutions accordingly.
  3. Preparing sales plans using ABB tools, conducting regular reviews, and proposing recovery plans if order shortfalls occur.
  4. Creating value for customers and ABB through successful transactions, contracts, and proposals, while communicating delivery, payment, and terms clearly.
  5. Ensuring effective marketing activities and value propositions, and developing new market opportunities.
  6. Managing administrative sales procedures, supporting data collection, project management, and preparing offers in coordination with relevant departments.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 8 years of related experience.
  • Previous sales and account management experience.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
  • Willingness to travel 30-35%.
  • Legal work authorization for employment in the US.
