Segment Sales Manager - Large Motors & Generators

This position reports to

Regional President of Large Motors and Generators

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for selling products, systems, and services within a designated segment, aligned with the industry segment strategy. Your daily activities will include achieving sales targets to ensure sustainable growth in orders, revenue, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will also identify and develop new sales opportunities within the assigned segment. The work model for this role is remote. You will contribute to the Motion Large Motors & Generators Division in the US. Main responsibilities include:

  1. Selling products, systems, and services to customers, focusing on volume, mix, and profitability targets, while ensuring a positive customer experience.
  2. Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand their needs, promote ABB’s offerings, and provide tailored solutions.
  3. Preparing sales plans using authorized tools, conducting regular reviews, and proposing recovery plans for potential shortfalls.
  4. Creating value for customers and ABB through effective sales techniques, managing transactions, contracts, and proposals, and communicating delivery, payment, and terms clearly.
  5. Supporting marketing activities and developing new market opportunities.
  6. Managing administrative procedures in sales processes, supporting data collection and project management, and preparing offers in coordination with relevant departments.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 8 years of related experience.
  • Previous experience in sales and account management.
  • Familiarity with SalesForce.
  • Willingness to travel 30-35%.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US for ABB.
