Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.
  • Experience leading student success, retention, persistence, and graduation initiatives for diverse student populations.
  • Experience developing and implementing innovative, evidence-based programs and services that support student achievement and holistic student development.
  • Experience utilizing student success data, assessment results, and institutional research to inform strategic planning, decision-making, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Knowledge of current higher education trends, student development theory, strengths-based practices, and best practices in supporting student belonging and engagement.
  • Experience working within federally funded, state-funded, opportunity, access, bridge, or retention programs such as SEEK, EOP, HEOP, TRIO, College Discovery, ASAP, or similar student support programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the SEEK Program at City Tech, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, enrollment goals, retention initiatives, and the College’s commitment to student access and success.
  • Develop and strengthen a student-centered SEEK program model that supports students throughout the student lifecycle, from recruitment and transition to college through persistence and graduation.
  • Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, faculty, academic departments, and campus partners to enhance academic support services, student engagement opportunities, and retention strategies for SEEK students.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with campus offices, including academic advising, tutoring and learning centers, career services, financial aid, counseling and wellness services, and other student support areas to ensure SEEK students receive coordinated and holistic support.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and assessment of SEEK Summer Program including but not limited to academic preparation, orientation activities, workshops, and transition support for incoming SEEK students.
  • Support recruitment, admissions, and onboarding efforts by collaborating with Admissions, Financial Aid, and campus stakeholders to identify, enroll, and support eligible SEEK students.
  • Develop assessment strategies to evaluate SEEK program effectiveness, student learning outcomes, retention, persistence, and graduation outcomes; use findings to inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with CUNY, New York State Education Department, and other applicable regulations governing opportunity programs while maintaining accurate program records and documentation.
  • Provide leadership and professional development opportunities for SEEK staff, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, community organizations, and educational access programs to strengthen pathways and resources available to SEEK students.
  • Represent the SEEK Program on campus committees and initiatives focused on student success, equity, access, retention, and completion.
  • Contribute to division-wide enrollment management and student affairs initiatives that advance student belonging, engagement, and success.
