Job summary

Bayer is hiring a Seed Technician to operate production equipment at the Grinnell site. You will use real-time data and SAP to document readings, maintenance orders and production information while ensuring health, safety and quality standards.

The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and training seasonal staff, with shift flexibility and the possibility of overtime to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic IT knowledge (internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and computer literacy.
• Valid driver’s license; MVR screening may be part of pre-employment.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
• Ability to work days, nights, rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in production sites and use real-time data to optimize procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections; troubleshoot equipment, processes and systems.
• Support plant areas with continuous improvement programs (5S, Lean, Six Sigma).
• Provide coaching and training to seasonal workforce and trainees.
• Utilize SAP to document readings, maintenance orders and production information.
