Job summary

Syngenta Seeds is seeking a production operator to set up, monitor, and adjust seed-cleaning equipment, ensuring product quality and process efficiency at our Belmond facility in Iowa.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, ability to work multiple shifts, and physical capability to lift up to 70 pounds. You will maintain records, support data dashboards, and uphold safety and QA/QC standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work multiple shifts during change of seasons.
• Able to perform manual labor tasks, such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, pull up to 70 pounds.
• Accurate record-keeping of production documents.
• Ability to effectively work in assigned areas of plant, such as warehouse, packaging, treating.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, adjust, and monitor cleaners, color sorters, gravity tables, and conveyors.
• Inspect product flow and equipment performance during production.
• Monitor seed quality attributes (purity, size, colour, damage, foreign material).
• Collect samples and report quality concerns promptly.
• Maintain data dashboards to drive teamwork and decisions.
• Alert leadership when non-conformities occur.
• Adhere to QA/QC standards and legal requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve production performance.
• Perform routine maintenance and report malfunctions.
