Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist in the United States. The role involves leading engineers and scientists on sediment remediation projects for federal and public sector clients, evaluating remediation technologies, and delivering technically sound designs across diverse settings.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and about 7 years of related experience, with travel up to 10% or less.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, riparian, and port settings.
• Understand principles of sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches and remedial action.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of CERCLA, GLLA, and related regulatory steps.
• Act as technical liaison with clients, public, and outside consultants.
• Lead staff in preparing, reviewing, and ensuring technically sound documentation.
