Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead sediment remediation projects for federal and public sector clients. Candidates should have demonstrated independence and team leadership on complex sites, with experience in remediation designs and regulatory programs.

The role involves evaluating remediation technologies, communicating technical strategies to clients, and mentoring junior staff while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7 years related experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and prepare designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and/or port sites.
• Understand sediment transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring technologies, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial design/construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on complex sediment sites and communicate technical strategies to clients.
• possess in-depth expertise in CERCLA, GLLA, and/or other regulatory steps for disturbed sediment sites.
• Lead staff in preparing/reviewing technical information to ensure sound, compliant documents.
• Act as liaison with clients, public, and outside consultants regarding technical evaluations.
