Job summary

GE Aerospace Research is seeking a Security Specialist to oversee daily security operations, visitor processing, and badge management at the Niskayuna, NY site. The ideal candidate has a relevant degree or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Associate of Science degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent professional experience.
• Operations background: demonstrated experience managing customer service or security operations, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing customer service, professionalism, and discretion.
• Security knowledge: familiarity with security protocols, confidentiality requirements, and best practices.
• Judgment and discretion: ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, sound judgment, and discretion.
• On-site presence required to fulfill responsibilities; U.S. citizenship required for government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily events, visitor processing, and badging operations.
• Apply Lean methodologies and maintain KPIs with actionable plans.
• Develop, revise, and audit security policy and operating procedures for visitors, events, and badges.
• Provide training to improve team efficiency and reinforce security processes.
• Auditing of access systems and programming to meet company and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee visitor registration system, roles, access, and training for site personnel.
• Oversee badge creation, validation, and access control processes.
