Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, test, maintain, and coordinate repairs, upgrades, and vendor support for security technology systems.
  • Coordinate with IT, Facilities, and external vendors to ensure effective operation of access control, CCTV, and other security technologies.
  • Recommend technology enhancements and assist in developing policies, procedures, and standards related to security systems.
  • Support daily security operations, staffing coordination, event security, and visitor/employee protection initiatives.
  • Assist with incident response, post-order development, after-action reviews, and emergency preparedness activities, drills, and exercises.
  • Maintain active involvement in frontline security operations to ensure technology solutions support operational needs.

THE POSITION

Position Title:Security Technology and Operations Coordinator

Location:Skokie, IL and Chicago, IL

Reports To:Associate Director of Security Operations

The Security Technology and Operations Coordinator serves as the primary day-to-day resource for the Museum's security technology environment and provides operational support to the Associate Director of Security Operations. The Coordinator helps ensure the effective operation of security systems, security programs, and departmental activities. This is a non-exempt, full-time onsite position that requires one weekend day and occasional evening availability.

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor, test, maintain, and coordinate repairs, upgrades, and vendor support for security technology systems.
  • Coordinate with IT, Facilities, and external vendors to ensure the effective operation of access control, CCTV, and other security technologies.
  • Recommend technology enhancements and assist in developing policies, procedures, and standards related to security systems.

THE PERSON
Education | Experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with administering security systems, such as video surveillance systems, access control systems, intrusion, and alarm systems.
  • College Degree preferred.
  • Must pass a thorough criminal background check.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including one weekend day and occasional evenings.
Knowledge | Skills | Abilities
  • Working knowledge of security technology and investigations, security communication systems, alarm and video surveillance systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and related applications.
