Job summary

The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum is seeking a Security Guard to help protect visitors, staff and exhibits. The role involves monitoring CCTV, patrolling the premises, enforcing policies, and coordinating with emergency responders when needed.

You will document incidents and operate security software while delivering excellent customer service at all times. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required to support museum operations.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 TOPS Certification is required before starting work.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer technology, including security software and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with CCTV monitoring and security systems.
  • Prior experience in museum, corporate, or public safety security is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential security threats.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for visitors and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate CCTV surveillance systems and respond to security concerns.
  • Patrol museum premises including exhibit spaces, entry points, and restricted areas.
  • Enforce museum policies to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, and alarms following proper protocols.
  • Conduct visitor screenings and manage access control for events and daily operations.
  • Maintain detailed reports of security incidents and surveillance footage.

Security GuardDepartment: SecurityReports To: Security ManagerFLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-ExemptThe Security Guard at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all visitors, staff, exhibits, and property. The Security Guard will monitor and operate CCTV surveillance systems, patrol museum premises, respond to security incidents, and provide exceptional customer service.
