Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced security technician to install, test, and commission intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems at commercial sites.

You will read blueprints, install components, verify functionality and code compliance, and document work orders. A high school diploma and 3+ years in fire and life safety are required; travel to job sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as apprentice or technician preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean record if driving role.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Manufacturer certifications in security or access control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission intrusion alarms, access control systems, CCTV, and related low-voltage security systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Install system components according to project specifications.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and code/compliance.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and complete corrective actions.
• Document work orders and project reports accurately and on time.
