Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain security systems, including intrusion alarms, access control, and CCTV. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with codes.

The role requires reading blueprints and diagrams, and traveling to job sites as needed. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work without direct

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
