Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC in Norwalk, CT is actively seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems, ensuring compliant, reliable operation and customer satisfaction.

This role requires 3+ years in fire and life safety, valid licenses (L6/L5/C6/C5/E2/E1), a clean driver’s license, and proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• License required: L6, L5, C6, C5, E2, or E1.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Strong knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work efficiently and safely.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.
