Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Vermont is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service, troubleshoot, and maintain intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV and other low-voltage systems at commercial sites.

You will read blueprints, use hand tools, verify system functionality, and ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements while documenting work and traveling to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record, if the role requires driving.
• Strong knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems.
• Diagnose issues and take corrective actions in a timely, professional manner.
• Test and verify proper functionality and compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Complete service documentation, reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate with customers, teammates, and supervisors regarding job progress.
• Follow safety procedures and travel to job sites as required.
