Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Hospital seeks a security software engineer to develop and maintain applications, APIs, and automation tools for its physical security platforms. You will configure access control and video management systems (Genetec, Software House) and build interfaces with HRIS, ITSM, and IAM to support enterprise security workflows.

The role emphasizes API-driven integrations, database awareness, and collaboration with IT, Cybersecurity, and Physical Security teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 2+ years software programming experience or an equivalent combination.
Experience with APIs, SDKs, and integration frameworks.
Hands-on work with enterprise access control or video management systems.
Strong understanding of databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain applications, APIs, scripts, and automation tools for physical security platforms.
Customize and configure access control and video management systems (Genetec, Software House).
Build interfaces between security systems and enterprise applications (HRIS, ITSM, IAM).
Design workflows and connectors for identity lifecycle automation across security systems.
Develop data exchange pipelines between physical and logical security systems.
