Job description

Responsibilities

• Install complex integrated security systems, including wiring, equipment, and programming of access control, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, fire alarm, intrusion, and intercom systems for clients.
• Install cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to the national electric code, company, and customer guidelines.
• Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated problems during installation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Readjust, repair, or replace equipment and test for operation.
• Perform system checks for proper operation.
• Plan, organize, and prioritize work, paying close attention to details.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing, establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
• Analyze information; work unsupervised to complete installation jobs and maintain self‑motivation.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
• Use hand and power tools to mount and secure equipment.
• Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls; drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.
• Conduct end‑user training.
• Isolate trouble to a customer network where applicable.

Requirements

• Significant background (3+ years) in digital & analog camera systems, access control, and intrusion systems.
• Significant background (3+ years) in fire alarm systems.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Understanding of the function and design of alarm systems.
• Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
• Computer literate with advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
• Ability to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency with all aspects of JCI A.I. core card access and CCTV systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2‑year technical school graduate.
• Industry‑recognized apprentice training program.
• Specialized training or certification in intrusion systems (DSC, DMP, Honeywell Vista), access control (at least 3 certifications from ProWatch, C‑Cure 800/9000, Kantech, Lenel), CCTV (at least 1 certification from Bosch, Axis, Avigilion), CCTV‑IP (at least 1 certification from Genetec, Honeywell, Exacqvision, Hanwha).
• Additional experience: MCSE, CCNA, surveillance systems, intrusion detection, perimeter intrusion detection, and security gate operators.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate: $25.00 – $31.73 per hour. Salary range reflects the target compensation for this role; exceptional candidates may warrant consideration beyond the stated range.
