Job description

Responsibilities

The position will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems, including wiring, equipment, and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems for clients.

• Install cabling, field equipment & control equipment enclosures at customer locations per national electric code, company and customer guidelines.
• Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated installation problems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and product manuals.
• Adjust, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation, performing system checks for proper operation.
• Plan, organize, and prioritize work with attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing, establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
• Complete installation jobs independently and submit all necessary paperwork.
• Use hand and power tools to mount and secure equipment.
• Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; terminate cables, wires and strapping.
• Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.
• Conduct end‑user training and isolate trouble to customer networks where applicable.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 3+ years experience in Digital \& Analog Camera Systems.
• 3+ years experience in Access Control Systems.
• Understanding of the function and design of Alarm Systems.
• 2+ years experience with IP addressable security devices.
• Computer literacy including advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
• Valid driving record and ability to operate company truck.

Preferred

• Associate Degree or 2‑year technical school graduate.
• Industry‑recognized apprentice training program may substitute for formal education.
• Specialized training or certificate in Access Control, CCTV‑Analog, CCTV‑IP, Visitor Management.
• Additional experience in MCSE, CCNA, Surveillance Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems and Security Gate Operators.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate: $24‑$32, determined by education, experience, skills, and market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted range reflects target compensation; exceptional candidates may be considered beyond the range.
