Job summary

Pref-Tech in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a Security Technician 2 to install and service access control, CCTV, intrusion, and video systems at O&G facilities. You will work on electrified locks, readers, cameras, head-end recorders, and related networked devices, documenting work and coordinating with customers.

Candidate should have at least 2 years’ security installation experience, a TX driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of relevant security experience or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years old with valid TX Driver’s License.
Understanding of electrical systems, wiring, IT networks, and system integration concepts.
Experience with Access Control and CCTV.
Willingness to learn and adapt, work independently with minimal supervision.
Currently licensed or ability to obtain TX DPS Security License.

Responsibilities

Assist in installation, configuration, and testing of access control, intrusion, and camera systems.
Install cabling, mount equipment, install card readers, door contacts, mag locks, electrified strikes and integrated systems.
Collaborate with project team to ensure successful implementation of project specifications.
Document detailed configurations, processes, and technical issues encountered during installations.
Maintain general understanding of low voltage systems and network topology.
Train and mentor junior technicians in installation practices and troubleshooting.
Adhere to safety standards and protocols during installations.
