Job summary

COASTAL PROTECTION INC is seeking a Security Installation & Service Technician Apprentice. You will travel with an experienced technician to learn to install or repair security systems—burglary, fire alarms, CCTV, smart locks, access control, and more—across customer locations.

The role focuses on hands-on learning, troubleshooting, and building foundational technical skills. Ideal candidates have a tech inclination, problem-solving ability, and a detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate use of hand tools such as power drills and cutters.
• Ability to climb ladders and lift at least 40 lbs.
• Previous experience in the security industry is not required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and listening skills and be a team player.
• Must have reliable transportation and clean MVR.
• Must have a clean background; a background check will be performed before hiring.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various locations and learn on the job daily.
• Assist in troubleshooting problems in security systems and make repairs or replacements.
• Assist in installing new security systems, including electronic locks, thermostats, alarms, CCTV, and more.
• Help to maintain equipment and restock vehicles and supplies as needed.
• Maintain excellent, accurate logs of work completed in our software.
• Rotate phone call emergency tech support with other security technicians (averages 1 week every month).
