Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Security Install Technician to install, test, and commission intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. You will read blueprints and technical manuals, install components, verify functionality, and ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements.

Travel to job sites, work independently, and communicate clearly with customers and team members while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Experience with commercial security systems preferred.
• Manufacturer certifications in security or access control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related systems.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Install system components including devices, panels, wiring, and hardware per project specifications.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Travel to job sites as required and communicate progress with customers and team members.
• Follow all safety procedures and complete documentation accurately.
