Job summary

IES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services. The Estimator supports sales and projects staff in developing designs and cost estimates, helping to keep information up to date and ensuring accurate bid pricing. This hybrid role is based in Tempe, AZ, with travel within the branch/region as needed.

You will write scopes of work, perform takeoffs, coordinate with vendors, and help meet bid schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards across projects.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required; higher degrees preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in customer interface.
• RCDD preferred, but not required.
• Structured Cabling experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete project engineering, selection of materials, and estimating labor.
• Attend site-walks and pre-bid meetings; track site visits for cost estimates.
• Act as liaison between sales, project management, and operations during turnover.
• Follow vendor guidelines; obtain best solutions and lead times.
• Provide accurate takeoffs and cost estimates per guidelines.
• Ensure estimating work meets quality and safety levels.
• Attend training and review sessions on technical requirements.
• Meet bid schedules and deadlines in a strict timeframe.
• Attend and complete job turnover meetings with required details.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
