Job summary

IET Systems, a Mobile, Alabama-based systems integrator specializing in perimeter security and critical infrastructure projects, is seeking an estimator to develop detailed cost models and competitive bids. The role combines technical reading of specs with data-driven pricing across labor, materials, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities include preparing bid packages, coordinating with sales and project teams, and maintaining accurate bid data in project management tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction or systems estimating.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with estimating software tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and RFPs to develop detailed estimates.
• Prepare bid packages including labor, materials, rentals, travel, and subcontractor pricing.
• Collaborate with Division VPs and Project Administrators to develop project schedules and Gantt charts.
• Coordinate with Sales and Administrative Assistants to gather vendor quotes and track bid components.
• Ensure timely entry of all bid data into project management platforms.
• Assist with bid review preparations and contribute to weekly bid committee meetings.
