Job summary

Pro-Tec Design, a Twin Cities security technology integrator, seeks a Security Systems Engineer to support pre- and post-sales engineering, test new tech, troubleshoot existing systems, and assist Sales with site walks and estimates. You will help create drawings, documentation, and scalable solutions for healthcare, manufacturing, education, and government clients.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong presentation skills.
• Strong customer-facing skills with ability to capture requirements and build client confidence.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration and logical problem solving.
• Attention to detail with ability to develop site drawings and project docs.
• 3–5 years in security industry preferred; IT experience considered.
• Knowledge of multiple access control platforms and video surveillance systems.
• Proficiency with Windows Server and MS SQL; experience with ACS and VMS software.

Responsibilities

• Develop material quantities, scopes of work, and system documentation.
• Create pre-sale system designs, installation drawings, and supporting docs.
• Support Sales during customer site walks with technology recommendations.
• Lead project kickoff meetings for smooth handoffs across teams.
• Test technology and maintain process guides for consistent implementation.
• Provide remote system programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning support.
• Deliver post-sales project documentation for accurate records.
