Qualifications

• Previous security or related experience; hotel security preferred.
• Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Experience overseeing contract security personnel.
• Strong knowledge of security practices, incident response, and emergency procedures.
• Ability to assess situations quickly and de-escalate conflicts.
• Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to write clear, accurate incident reports.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication with guests and staff.
• Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
• Familiar with CCTV and access-control systems.
• Capable of independent decision-making within policy.
• Collaborates across hotel departments with a service mindset.
• Flexible schedule availability (evenings, nights, weekends).
• Able to obtain required licenses/certifications for DC area.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the property safety policies and procedures.
• Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe environment.
• Manage third‑party security team and uphold high standards.
• Promote a safe, peaceful environment for guests and colleagues.
• Assist individuals in danger or needing medical attention.
• Respond to emergencies per property procedures.
• Protect guest and employee information in records and operations.
• Complete Daily Activity and Incident Reports.
• Ensure compliance with liquor laws.
• Develop and present security-related programs.
• Review written records produced by Security Officers.
• Support other job classifications as needed by supervisor.
