Description

Campus Security Officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. They conduct patrols, monitor CCTV, oversee communications, and provide excellent customer service. They enforce university rules, collaborate with law enforcement, and respond to emergencies and incidents.

The Security Supervisor will oversee Security Officers I and II, as well as student staff, and assist in coordinating security activities. This position is based on the Portland campus, with an expected salary of $58,240 and total compensation ranging from $76,608 to $91,736 depending on benefits.

Responsibilities

• Supervise security staff and student workers
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating security operations
• Lead and mentor security personnel
• Conduct employee development and reviews
• Manage parking and incident reports
• Participate in emergency response and safety protocols
• Respond to disturbances, emergencies, and enforce policies
• Coordinate with local agencies and support campus safety initiatives

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 5+ years in security or related fields preferred
• Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response

• Ability to respond calmly under pressure and handle emergencies
• Valid Maine driver’s license and certifications in First Aid, CPR, Narcan, etc.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and support staff in absence of higher security roles
