Responsibilities Emergency Response & Public SafetyAct as liaison with the security monitoring company, law enforcement, and/or fire officials in responding to alarm situations when necessary.
Assist law enforcement personnel and client employees in apprehending absconders and handling unruly and/or violent individuals on the premises to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Recognize dangerous conditions on buildings and grounds and respond appropriately.
Initiate and render first aid assistance in emergency situations involving injury or illness to members, employees, volunteers, or visitors.
Summon emergency fire, ambulance, or medical services when necessary.
Carry a functional cellular phone at all times while on duty for emergency communication.
Maintain active surveillance of parking areas and assigned locations.
Use client property responsibly, including keys, building access control systems, and surveillance equipment.
Keep a vigilant eye to safeguard persons and property at all times.
Utilize strong communication skills to de-escalate and mediate confrontational or tense situations.
Provide daily incident summaries and detailed incident reports to the client via email, as required.
Prepare clear, concise, complete, legible, and factual written reports.
Complete all necessary forms and documentation provided by the entity.
Meet and interact courteously and effectively with employees, visitors, and the general public.
Route or guide visitors to conference rooms or other designated areas as needed.
Give clear verbal directions and instructions to agency personnel, visitors, and other tenants.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions; provide guidance to others on rules, duties, and procedures.
Demonstrate working knowledge of general safety precautions and fire prevention methods.
Must possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
Must be physically capable of walking, standing, running, and climbing for extended periods to perform essential duties.
Must possess, with or without reasonable accommodation, sufficient color vision to distinguish color-coded entry media and adequate hearing to detect audible alarms.
Must remain alert, even-tempered, and exercise sound judgment in all situations.
Demonstrate initiative, maturity, integrity, and high ethical standards.
Exhibit strong attention to detail, especially under stress.
Must be able to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a calm, non-confrontational manner.
Must be able to speak English clearly and distinctly for effective verbal communication.
Must be able to read and comprehend detailed regulations, written orders, and training materials.
Capable of determining the identity and business purpose of employees and visitors.
Must be able to operate telephone and radio communication equipment as provided by the agency.
Must possess basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of duties during assigned shifts.
