Summary:

• Responsible for security during assigned shift including scheduling of officers and maintaining appropriate records. Properly supervises and manages all Security Officers during their tour of duty.
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Schedules duty assignments for shift security guard force and periodically checks with assigned personnel to ensure that assigned duties are properly carried out and that officers are on post
  
  

Inspects uniforms, equipment and personal appearance of assigned personnel

Conducts random patrols of hospital premises for general security, safety and fire protection purposes

Directs/conducts preliminary investigations of alleged criminal acts on hospital premises

Directs removal or apprehension of unauthorized or suspicious persons on hospital premises

Prepares department operations reports as required

Oversees the operations training for newly hired shift security officers

Completes time cards for assigned shift

Interacts will all PaH employees, staff, visitors and patients in a cordial, helpful and professional manner

Ensures that all Security generated paperwork is placed in computer in a timely manner

Prepares weekly Security Officer schedules

Answers calls for service in and around the hospital

Conducts periodic Fire Drills in and around the hospital

Completes payroll for Security

Uses effective interpersonal skills in all interactions

Performs duties and exhibits behaviors consistent with care philosophy of Pennsylvania Hospital

Credentials:

• PA Act - Trng to Cry Lthl Wpns (Required)
• Pennsylvania Act 235 certification required upon completion of six months of employment required.
• Driver's License (Required)
• Driver’s License - current, active, unrestricted license required.
  
  

Education or Equivalent Experience:

• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
• Education Specialization: Equivalent Experience:
• And 4+ years Extensive experience in security guard force operations, preferably in health care setting
• 1+ years Supervisory experience
