Job summary

Air Force Civilian Service is seeking a full-time Security Specialist (GG-0080-13) to serve at the 352nd COS, Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, Honolulu, HI. The role focuses on protecting enterprise information from espionage and threats while coordinating security programs and policies.

Qualified candidates must be a U.S. citizen, able to obtain a Top Secret clearance with SCI access, and willing to undergo polygraph examinations.

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Security Specialist (GG-0080-13), to perform as a Program Security Specialist, working at the 352nd Cyberspace Operations Squadron (COS), Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V2007.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

Salary ($111,119 - $144,457) based on experience.

Relocation expenses may be paid.

This position may be authorized up to 20% telework with supervisor approval as dictated by mission requirements. Telework must take place within specific mileage of the primary duty location. Telework is not guaranteed.

Qualifications/Requirements

In this position you will serve as a 352 COS Security Office (SO) security specialist to protect the enterprise from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to enterprise and enterprise mission interests, national defense, or national security.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must be able to obtain & maintain a “Top Secret” Security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI)

Incumbent may undergo random counter-intelligence scope polygraph examinations.

This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position

This is a KEY position the incumbent must be removed from Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become part of the Ready Reserve.

This position requires at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional and Security Asset Protection Professional Certifications within 2 years of the initial assignment of duties.

• Knowledge of a wide range of advanced concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices involved in security.
• Knowledge of security program interrelationships to coordinate the objectives and plans of two or more specialized programs to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
• Skill to interpret a variety of security program laws, directives, regulations, and guidance to assist subordinate organizations in establishing and operating internal security programs.
• Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations.
