Duties & Responsibilities- Provide oversight, guidance, and program implementation assistance as the Security Specialist III - Access Control Specialist.
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain real-time information updates.
- Troubleshoot and track software and hardware issues, taking corrective actions proactively.
- Prepare briefings and attend meetings.
- Manage system capabilities for the Agency's Security Management System (SMS), including automated access control, badging, CCTV, alarms, etc., ensuring operational readiness across NGA locations. Responsible for adding/removing employee facility accesses.
- Act as the Information Security System officer/manager for the SMS and perform required functions.
- Conduct risk assessments, provide security oversight, and offer technical direction on AIS systems, networks, and media. Conduct audits and inventories.
- Support security awareness programs related to information systems security.
- Perform inspections and staff assistance visits.
- Liaise with DoD, IC, and other officials as permitted by protocol.
- Assist NGA Workforce Support Center/Help Desk to provide expertise and support to internal and external customers.
- Provide updates and reports to the SMS Program Manager and the Security Division Chief as needed.
- Plan, coordinate, and host meetings with site operators to address issues, document minutes, and follow up on actions.
- Lead special projects like re-badging, mass records updates, or new access badge development.
- Support and document customer requirements; assist with investigations.
- Coordinate and recommend actions on construction projects and SMS initiatives.
- Maintain and update security plans, as-built drawings, and documentation.
- Deliver briefings and prepare correspondence as required.
- Assist in SCIF database operations and maintenance of the SMS (badging, CCTV, alarms, etc.) to ensure system readiness at NGA locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):- Experience operating access control or alarm systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, including building complex formulas and presenting data metrics.
Desired Certifications:- C-Cure Certification
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
- Certifications from CompTIA or similar organizations
Minimum Education & Experience:- High School Diploma
- At least five years of experience in Access Control Security and related functions.
