Job summary

Ahtna Inc is seeking a Security Guard to perform fixed-post, mobile, and patrol duties while maintaining situational awareness and following post orders and protocols.

The role may involve austere conditions and adverse weather while conducting surveillance, access control, and incident response. A state-issued guard card, a high school diploma, and at least two years of security or military experience are required. English fluency and the ability to pass background screening are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of security/civilian law enforcement experience OR an equivalent position with the United States Armed Forces.
• Language: Fluent in speaking and writing English.
• Pre-Hire Screening: Pass criminal background, drug test, and physical exam.
• Certifications: Must have a state-issued Guard card.

Responsibilities

• Keep supervisors informed of unusual occurrences and events per post orders.
• Monitor alarms, radio traffic, and information sources; report or dispatch as needed.
• Report fire alarms, burglaries, and suspicious activity; address incidents per protocol.
• Screen and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering or exiting the facility.
• Escort individuals or vehicles as directed and monitor access control systems.
• Log property movements and ensure security of government property.
• Coordinate with local/state/federal law enforcement; testify when required.
• Perform regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities.
• Provide security support for events and emergencies as requested.
