Job summary

The position requires a high school diploma, 2 years of security or military experience, a valid driver's license, and fluent English. You must pass background checks and a drug screen; capable of working in austere conditions and creating logs and reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security/civilian law enforcement experience OR equivalent military.
• One year of work experience demonstrating the ability to follow directions and complete required training.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be fluent in speaking and writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Keep supervisors and managers informed of unusual occurrences and important events as detailed in post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines, and protocols.
• Monitor alarms, radio traffic and other information sources; dispatch or inform others as needed and authorized.
• Report and address fire alarms, burglar alarms, requests for assistance and criminal acts; including vandalism, theft, illegal entry or attempted entry, suspicious behavior, threats, and vehicle violations.
• Stop, screen, inquire, and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering and exiting the facility as directed by post orders.
• Prevent passage of prohibited articles onto or from client facility.
• Escort individuals or vehicles in accordance with post orders and protocols.
• Use portable radios, phones, or other communication devices per rules.
• Monitor APSI and client equipment; guard against loss or damage; report promptly.
• Log in Property Pass numbers for authorized property/equipment movements.
• Ensure security of government property and detain personnel if needed; report unauthorized removal.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities.
• Grant access during non-working hours to authorized personnel.
• Monitor access control systems and RFID systems; report violations.
• Maintain activity logs and administrative documents as required by contract.
• Cooperate with local, state, or federal law enforcement and testify when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
