Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and assets while delivering a friendly shopping experience. You will respond to incidents, operate surveillance tech, and work with store leaders to maintain safety during peak hours and complex situations.

The role requires 18+ years, a high school diploma, ability to handle physical tasks, and flexible shifts; training will be provided to develop skills in de-escalation, loss prevention, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capable of remaining focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments.
• Greet guests at 10ft and 4ft levels with a warm, helpful interaction.
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards throughout the store.
• Respond to security incidents promptly and document them in the case management system.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed.
• Prevent theft and shortage by performing merchandise receipt checks and communicating trends.
• Demonstrate use of Target video surveillance system and document incidents per AP policy.
