Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to protect guests and team members in a fast-paced retail environment. You will greet guests, uphold security standards, and respond to incidents using de-escalation and surveillance techniques.

Responsibilities include documenting cases, preventing theft, and collaborating with store leadership to maintain a safe shopping experience. This role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests at the front of store.
• Promote a physical security culture by maintaining safe and secure standards store-wide.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Respond to guest issues to provide a safe environment for guests and team members.
• Utilize de-escalation tactics across the store when addressing incidents.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and support theft apprehension per AP policies.
• Prevent theft by performing merchandise receipt checks and spot trends.
• Document incidents in the case management system following AP policies.
• Understand and operate Target's video surveillance system.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work safely and report hazards as required.
• All other duties based on business needs.
