Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and merchandise in a fast-paced store environment. You will greet guests, uphold safety standards, and respond to incidents using de-escalation techniques and our video surveillance tools.

Ideal candidates are at least 18, have a high school diploma, and can work flexible hours including nights and weekends. You will document incidents, participate in theft prevention, and support store operations while maintaining a safe,

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests at the front of store.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards throughout the store.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Respond to guest issues to ensure safety for guests and team members.
• Utilize de-escalation tactics and resources during incidents across the store.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and support theft apprehension per AP policies.
• Prevent theft by checking receipts and recognizing trends per AP policies.
• Submit documentation in case management system following AP procedures.
• Understand and use Target's video surveillance system.
• Demonstrate safety, ethics and compliance in all actions.
• Work safely and comply with policies; report hazards.
