Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist in West Milwaukee to help keep guests, team members and assets safe while delivering a friendly shopping experience. You will greet guests, deter theft, monitor activity with video surveillance, and document incidents using case management systems.

You should be 18+, have a high school diploma, be able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state/local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers while staying positive and respectful.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards store-wide.
• Respond to and document security incidents promptly and accurately.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed.
• Prevent theft and shortages by verifying receipts and recognizing trends.
